What to Pack for Crete in April: Your Complete Packing List!

• Jacket or Coat: The evenings can get chilly, so pack a light jacket or windbreaker. A fleece-lined jacket is perfect for the cooler days, but you won’t need anything too heavy.

• Scarf: A light scarf is a good accessory for both style and warmth when temperatures drop in the evening.  It also serves as a cover-up when visiting religious sites that might prefer modest clothing.

• Pants & Shorts: Pack comfortable pants or jeans for daily exploration. I very much prefer long hiking trousers in dark colors that transition well along the day. I also enjoy wearing light cotton elephant pants and long cotton skirts like the one in the picture below! Add a pair of lightweight shorts for when the temperatures rise in the afternoon.

• Walking Shoes: Whether you’re exploring ancient ruins (often slippery!)or strolling through charming villages, a pair of comfortable walking shoes or sneakers are a must.

• Hiking Boots: If you plan to explore hiking paths, a gorge, or other natural landscapes, hiking boots are essential to handle Crete’s rugged terrain.

• Flip-flops/Sandals: For the coastal towns or just walking along the beach, flip-flops or comfortable sandals will be great for a more relaxed vibe.

Essential accessories

Sunglasses: The sun is strong even in April, so don’t forget your sunglasses to protect your eyes.
