Rethymnon at night

Lively, social, and full of energy, Rethymno may be the third-largest city in Crete, but when it comes to nightlife, it easily holds its own. Thanks to its large university community, the town has a youthful, energetic atmosphere that carries straight into the night.

Nightlife in Agios Nikolaos

Cozy, and beautifully low-key, nightlife in Agios Nikolaos and the wider Lasithi region is all about slowing down. This is eastern Crete at its most relaxed—less noise, fewer crowds, and evenings designed for lingering rather than rushing from place to place.

Agios Nikolaos, the capital of Lasithi, is a small, charming town built around its famous lake. While it doesn’t have a big party scene, it offers something many travelers prefer: easygoing nights with character.

Most evenings revolve around a drink by the water, a late dinner, and a peaceful stroll under the lights. You’ll find a handful of welcoming bars and pubs scattered around town, especially near Lake Voulismeni.
