As you hike, you will spot local wildlife, including Cretan wild goats that roam the area. The trail leads through pine forests and past the beautiful Agia Roumeli village, where you can take a break.

The gorge is open from May to October, so you must visit in October to experience the gorge in the Fall. Visiting in autumn means fewer crowds. The fall colors add a special charm to the scenery, making my walk even more enjoyable.

One of my favorite ways to relax in Crete is by visiting its secluded beaches. The weather in autumn is still warm, with average temperatures around 24°C. This makes it an ideal time to enjoy the sun without the summer crowds.

I recommend heading to a remote beach like Vai in East Crete for stunning views and soft sand. You can take leisurely walks along the shore or simply lounge under a sun umbrella. Bring a good book, or pack snacks for a longer day by the sea. Be sure to explore hidden coves and less-known beaches for an intimate experience. Just imagine having a beach all to yourself!

Spa Treatments with Olive Oil

Crete is famous for its olive oil, and I love to indulge in spa treatments using this local treasure. Many spas offer treatments that feature olive oil for hydration and nourishment. It’s a unique experience that also supports local traditions.
